The Seattle Seahawks reached an agreement with outside linebacker Derick Hall on a three-year, $42 million contract extension. The new commitment secures the edge rusher through the 2029 season, as confirmed by his representation, Chad Berger and Ezra J. Thompson.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on X: “Edge Derick Hall and the Seahawks reached agreement today on a three-year, $42 million extension that could be worth up to $46.5 million and includes $21 million guaranteed, per his agents Chad Berger and Ezra J Thompson. Hall is now under contract to Seattle the 2029 season. Hall had two sacks and a forced fumble during the Seahawks’ Super Bowl LX win over the Patriots.”
The long-term pact is worth $42 million and includes $21 million in guaranteed money. The deal can reach a maximum value of $46.5 million through incentives. Hall was previously scheduled to enter the final season of his original rookie deal, which he signed after being selected by Seattle as a second-round draft choice out of Auburn in 2023. By securing this deal, the front office continues its aggressive strategy of retaining home-grown talent following record-setting defensive investments earlier this offseason.
Hall, 25, was selected by Seattle with the 37th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft after a standout career at Auburn. Over three NFL seasons, he has appeared in 48 games, making 17 starts while recording 105 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 38 quarterback hits and 10 sacks. He has also forced two fumbles and recovered one. Hall played a significant role during Seattle’s Super Bowl LX championship, producing two sacks and a forced fumble in the Super Bowl victory over the New England Patriots. He also logged two sacks while playing nearly half of the team’s defensive snaps in the game.
Although Hall’s statistical production dipped in 2025, Seattle remained confident in his long-term value as part of its pass-rushing rotation. His extension comes after the departure of edge rusher Boye Mafe in free agency and further solidifies the Seahawks’ defensive front, which also includes veterans DeMarcus Lawrence, Leonard Williams, Byron Murphy and Jarran Reed.
