The Green Bay Packers have secured one of their top offensive playmakers for the foreseeable future, agreeing to a four-year, $110.5 million contract extension with wide receiver Christian Watson.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter posted on X: “Green Bay WR Christian Watson and the Packers reached agreement today on a four-year, $110.5 million contract extension that includes a $31 million signing bonus.”
As reported by multiple outlets, the deal keeps Watson under contract through the 2030 season. The transaction also places the 27-year-old among the top 15 highest-paid receivers in the NFL based on average annual value, with his new salary tier positioning him just ahead of Buffalo Bills pass-catcher DJ Moore and close to the franchise tag designation of Dallas Cowboys wideout George Pickens.
The agreement comes less than a year after the Packers signed Watson to a one-year extension while he continued his recovery from a torn ACL suffered in the 2024 regular-season finale. Watson was entering the final year of the bridge deal signed last September—worth $11 million—which served as a placeholder while he returned from a the injury. The new terms add onto the remaining $5.75 million left on his prior contract.
Over his four-year professional career, the former 2022 second-round draft selection has accumulated 133 receptions for 2,264 yards and 20 scores. His play metrics are particularly striking; his 2.15 yards per route run and 9.97 yards per target stack up favorably against the rest of the league’s wideouts over the last few seasons. Upon returning from injury late last year, he registered 35 receptions for 611 yards and six touchdowns across his final 10 appearances, leading the professional football ranks in yards per catch during the final two months of the season.
